Bitcoin Discovery




Welcome and thank you for reading my blog 😊

I am new to Bitcoin, but since I discovered it, I have not stopped researching it, wanting to find out more about this magical decentralised currency. I felt like I had just found the future! I also felt like everyone already knew about it but me, so I had a lot of catching up to do! 

That being said, in my opinion the potential of Bitcoin and other Cryptocurrencies are no where near reached yet. So although I would not call myself an early adopter, I have a feeling there will be many more people wanting to join in this mind blowing, world changing journey that is Cryptocurrency.

Ok so I know I sound way too enthusiastic, but seriously so many more people are using/investing in Bitcoin now, along with the news of CME's Bitcoin Futures to start trading as soon as 11th December 2017! This is HUGE and I am excited to be a part (even just a small part) of such a fast growing innovative space.

This blog is for people like me, newbies to Bitcoin and other Cryptocurrencies. I found that when researching, everyone was kind of a veteran at all this stuff. Whether it be the technology side or the investing side, a lot of jargon is used that I just did not understand at first!

So I thought I would create my own blog, sharing my journey and my new knowledge with others and breaking it down into layman's terms. I do truly believe this is our future and everyone should have the chance to at least understand the possibilities happening right now, without being scared off by all the technical talk...

I hope that by me sharing my own journey and knowledge, it will help others understand and discover Bitcoin and other Cryptocurrencies for themselves.

Bitcoin Explained

I discovered Bitcoin earlier this year,  by accident! It took me a while to get my head around it at first, as it was a complete unknown entity to me. But I persevered as I  thought I should at least understand what it's all about. I am not a tech person and so it really did take me a while to understand 'Bitcoin' what it is, what it does and what it means. So this is what I found out... Bitcoin is a form of Digital Currency.  It is Decentralised , meaning there is no third party (i.e. Bank)  involvement in your Bitcoin transactions.  It is a   Peer to Peer transaction, person to person, basically like cash! But on the internet!!  Unlike cash, there will only ever be a maximum of 21 Million Bitcoins created. Bitcoins are created by  Mining .
